INJURY CARE & TRIAGE

Workplace Injury Care,
Case Management &
24/7 Triage

Walk-in injury treatment, conservative case management, return-to-work programs, and around-the-clock physician-led triage because injuries do not wait for business hours.

When a workplace injury happens, what comes next makes all the difference for the employee and for the employer’s bottom line.

Immediate Care.
Expert Case Management.

Gulf Coast Occupational Medicine provides immediate walk-in injury care at all of our Baton Rouge area clinic locations, backed by a conservative case management approach that focuses on appropriate treatment, fast recovery, and getting the employee back to productive work as quickly and safely as possible.

Our providers see workplace injuries every day. They understand the difference between occupational medicine and general urgent care. They know how to evaluate an injury in the context of the employee’s job duties, communicate restrictions clearly to employers, and manage a case from initial treatment through full return-to-duty clearance. When needed, we coordinate post-accident drug and alcohol testing during the same visit.

And when injuries happen after hours, on weekends, or on holidays, our 24/7 physician-led telehealth triage line provides immediate medical guidance so the right decision is made from the very first moment.

Our clinics are strategically located and fully staffed with experts committed to high quality care, and our mobile units can respond to injuries on-site at your facility when needed.

Walk-In Injury Treatment

Injured employees can walk in to any of our clinic locations during business hours for immediate evaluation and treatment no appointment needed.

Immediate Evaluation & Treatment

Workplace injuries are prioritized. Our providers evaluate, diagnose, and treat on-site with X-ray, lab work, and EKG all in one visit. You receive a same-day report with diagnosis, treatment plan, and work status.

On-Site Injury Response

Our mobile medical units respond to job site injuries with digital X-ray, lab capabilities, and a private exam room reducing transport time and crew disruption on large industrial sites and remote locations.

Diagnostic Services

Digital X-ray, on-site laboratory, EKG, and point-of-care rapid testing all in-house. The provider makes a diagnosis and treatment decision during the same visit, no outside referrals needed.

Follow-Up Care

Ongoing wound checks, suture removal, re-evaluation, restriction adjustments, and medication management. Each follow-up includes an updated work status report sent to the employer.

Specialist Referrals & Priority Admission

When an injury requires surgery or specialized care, we coordinate priority admission with local hospitals and specialists. We remain involved in case management throughout recovery.

Conservative Case Management

Our approach to injury case management is built around one principle: treat the injury appropriately and get the employee back to productive work as quickly as safety allows.

We do not over-treat, over-test, or over-refer. We treat what needs to be treated, monitor recovery closely, and make return-to-work decisions based on clinical evidence. This benefits everyone the employee recovers faster, the employer spends less on the claim, and the workplace gets its trained employee back sooner.

24/7 Telehealth Injury Triage

Injuries do not always happen during business hours. Our physician-led triage line provides immediate medical guidance after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.

Why This Approach Saves Employers Money

Avoid Unnecessary ER Visits

The majority of workplace injuries are not emergencies. Sprains, strains, and minor lacerations are treated faster and at a fraction of the cost in an occupational medicine clinic. Designate Gulf Coast as your first-call provider and use the 24/7 triage line after hours.

Reduce Claim Duration & Cost

Claims managed proactively and conservatively cost less overall. Quick initial care, appropriate treatment, and active return-to-work coordination keep claims moving forward shorter durations and lower total costs.

One Provider, One System

When multiple providers are involved, communication breaks down and records get fragmented. With Gulf Coast managing the case from first call to full return-to-duty, everything stays coordinated one set of records, one point of contact.
